Why Should You Buy an Intel Core i9 Gaming Laptops?

Hyper-threading technique

The main purpose of a processor is to read instructions, referred to as threads, and perform its scheduled tasks. The i9 gaming laptops processor features Intel hyper-threading technology. This allows each core to process two threads simultaneously for speed performance.

Now consider the fact that core i9 11th gen has 8 cores, each core is allocated two threads; i9 CPU can directly process 16 threads. The processing speed is very high and this is why the intel core i9 is so good for gaming. It can handle an abundance of threads for lightning-fast gameplay.

Intel Turbo Boost Technology

i9 is another speed-related increase in CPU. If the Core i9 processor is not too hot, it will increase the processor clock frequency to 200 MHz. You’ll get a temporary speed boost, but you don’t have to worry about overheating the i9 processor because the turbo feature will run out after reaching a particular temperature.

Another great feature of the i9 CPU – especially for techies – is that it comes with unlocked CPUs.

Additional processing power to handle intensive applications

this means that processors are often overclocked; In other words, you will inform the process at a faster rate than the speed at which it was designed.

This not only makes your computer more customizable, it can also provide you with additional processing power to handle intensive applications – such as multi-core hyper-threading and turbo boost were not enough. This is not multitasking; It’s mega-tasking

But there’s more: Integrated Intel Optane memory provides even more speed.

Intel Ultra High-Definition (UHD) Graphics

Of course, these speed increases would be useless if the Core i9 CPU does not have a robust graphics card. But this is not a matter of concern. The Core i9 CPU has Intel Ultra High-Definition (UHD) graphics. This graphics card is capable of playing 4K video and is powerful enough to handle professional video and photo editing applications.

The graphics card is not the strongest that Intel has produced, but, supported by all the integrated speed boosts within the Core i9 CPU, it can handle any computer game that is largely open-world environments, or rich and immersive. Features virtual reality (VR). ) experience.

A great successor to the previous generation

for enthusiasts who are looking for an upgrade, a laptop with an Intel Core i9 is an excellent value for money. Although machines with this processor are expensive, however, they are significantly faster than previous generation processors. With revelations such as Intel Optane memory and hyper-threading.

Powerful RAM

Intel Core i9 processor is one of the fastest CPUs available in the market, so most laptops with this processor come with a large amount of RAM. This means that you can perform both CPU and RAM-intensive work.

Powerful GPU

96% of Intel Core i9 laptops come with powerful GPUs that allow these machines to perform CPU + GPU intensive tasks such as machine learning, CAD and 3D modeling software such as Blender, AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, 3D Max, Cinema 4D Make perfect for, e.t.c.

  • 17.3″ FHD 300Hz/3ms

  • This genuine Asus laptop comes with a 1-year Global Warranty and Onsite Domestic Warranty from ASUS

While many gaming laptops focus on maximizing portability, some are still about performance first. The Asus ROG Strix Scar 17.3″ (G732) is one of these, a 17-inch laptop that is not massive but certainly has space and coolness needed for some serious high-end parts.

(Models start at ₹ 1,58,399.00; our G732LXS-HG059T test configuration is ₹ 2,70,411.00 incl. GST.) This premium Intel Core i9-10980HK processor and Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 Super GPU are for blazing-fast gaming and media editing, while the laptop’s 300Hz Is also able to use. Display.

The construction is solid, if not remarkable, and we have to accept that almost any laptop with such deluxe components would be a top performer. This price tier has more exciting and interesting leaks, such as the Asus ROG Zephyrus Duo 15 (GX 550) and the Acer Predator Triton 900, but the Streaks Scar 17 packs a strong performance-per-dollar ratio if that’s your priority.

ASUS ROG Strix SCAR 17 G732LXS Review: Design and Build

It is difficult for this large-screen gaming laptop to go unnoticed on its size (1.1 by 15.7 by 11.5 in), but its physical design is more modest. Rather than double down on a large footprint with a sharp aesthetic, Asus opted for a restrained option with a mostly black look.

The lid only has a diagonal line and a transparent ROG logo with LED backlighting, while the area around the keyboard is almost all black with some gray sketches and some text.

However, a more eye-catching submarine comes from the LED strip that runs along the left, front, and right bottom sides of the chassis. If you keep these lights on (colors and effects are fully customizable using the included software, as are the lid logo and keyboard lighting), the trail is definitely more attractive. It may not be your cup of tea, and you can turn it off, but it is a very attractive (and fun) feature.

At 6.3 pounds, the Streaks Scar 17 is far less portable than the slim 15-inch gaming laptops that have been caught over the years, but you should expect to opt for a 17-inch rig.

There are laptops of this size that prioritize portability as much as they can (Razer Blade 17, MSI GS75 Stealth), but you’ll get several times larger or larger than the Streak Scar 17 like the HP Omen 17. Also some much bolder, more experimental designs, such as the ASUS ROG G703 17.3″ FHD.

The 17.3-inch, Full HD IPS panel on this model is not only in-room but very advanced. The display features a fast-paced 300Hz refresh rate, which is fit for enthusiasts who want to squeeze super-frame frame rates from their games.

The machine’s components are up to the task (more on that in a moment), so the alien screen is certainly not meaningless, even if aimed at a niche audience. In addition, the screen has a 3ms response time, and the overall picture quality is good.

ASUS ROG Strix SCAR 17 G732LXS Premium Parts, Ports, and More

To increase the frame rate, you’ll need some serious shelling, and as mentioned, Scar 17 has a limit. This laptop is packed with an Intel Core i9-10980HK processor, an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 Super GPU, 32GB memory, and 2TB SSDs that act as a drive in a RAID 0 configuration. The CPU is an eight-core, 16-thread monster, while the GPU is the most powerful laptop option available. We’ve only tested the RTX 2080 Super in its first tuned-down Max-Q form, so read on to see how it performs.

Our model is the most expensive configuration for this laptop. The initial version is ₹ 1,58,399.00 with a Core i7-10875H CPU, a GeForce RTX 2070 Super, 16GB of memory, and 1TB of storage.

There is also a $ 2,699.99 model with Core i9-10980HK, RTX 2070 Super, and 32GB of RAM and a $ 2,999.99 version that takes our review unit and reduces RAM to 16GB and storage to 512GB. All models include a 300 Hz display.

The rest of the physical construction is about average, with nothing positive or negative about keyboards, touchpads, or ports. Comfortable enough to type on the keyboard, with decent travel but slightly soulful keys with not much response.

The touchpad is fully functional, but it feels small relative to the size of the empty space around it. It may be a little bit, but there is nothing wrong with that.

ASUS ROG Strix SCAR 17 G732LXS Premium Parts, Ports

Port placement is a bit unusual but required. The left flank includes two USB 3.1 ports, while the right side has no conventional connection. The rest are at the rear, including another USB 3.1 Type-A port, a USB-C port, an HDMI connection, an Ethernet jack, and a power connector.

The laptop’s right flank includes an unusual feature: Asus’s proprietary keystone module slot. Keystone is a removable flash-drive-style product (sold separately for $ 39.99) that stores your profile for settings (general and game-specific) as well as system lighting. It also includes an encrypted hidden partition for personal file storage and works with many other keystone-compatible Asus systems.

Last but not least, the laptop includes Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth, but no webcam. It is one of several recent Asus i9 gaming laptops that lack a webcam; I’m not sure why Asus is coming to that decision, but it’s a particularly notable exclusion in our current climate.

ASUS ROG Strix SCAR 17 G732LXS Review: Performance and Battery

The ROG Strix Scar 17 G732 employs the top-end Nvidia RTX2080 Super (8GB VRAM) with a top-end 10th-gen Intel Core i9-10980HK processor. It is one of the class-leading combos, and at least one of the best performing bets until the RTX 30 Series arrives.

RAID 0 has 32GB of DDR4 RAM and two 1TB PCIe M.2 SSDs connected and is treated as such. The Armory Crate app has three performance profiles – Silent, Performance, and Turbo. And the performance is clear!

ASUS-ROG-Strix-Scar-17-Review-Design-and-Build1

To further enhance the Strix Scart 18 G732, we tested some high-end gaming titles in full HD resolution, ultra settings. Far Cry 5 can average up to 135 fps comfortably at 165 fps.

The Assassin breed averaged around 75 fps, with the Tomb Raider shadow emphasizing around 120 fps, and the Metro Exodus could go all the way up to 85 fps and the average was around 60. Grand Theft Auto 5 averaged at 100fps at very high settings.

This is a terrific gaming performance and the good thing is that if you keep the back a little high, the Streaks scar can efficiently destroy all the heat generated, and the chassis is never unbearably hot. Things get very noisy, though.

The cooling system includes two high-capacity fans and several heat pipes and is suitably designed to handle the RTX2080 at 150W. Fans are always active, but they are barely audible under regular workload or silent profiles. It is an excellent machine for productivity and media editing

The Asus ROG Strix Scar 15 is one of the recently released line gaming laptops by Asus. Here is our review of the device.

Taiwanese computer company Asus may have to take a break from releasing the laptop when Kovid hits this year, but it is sure to be built now. The device manufacturer has recently launched a range of gaming and other laptops that span various price points.

The most recent one launched by the company was the Asus ROG Strix Scar 15 gaming laptop which included some top-line specs. Also, readAsus ZenFone 7 Pro gets first Android 11 public beta

Asus’s new ROG Strix laptop has been launched in India at Rs 79,990. We received the ROG Strix Scar 15 variant, which features an Intel 10th gen Core i9 10980HK processor, Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 Super GPU, 32GB DDR4 3200 MHz RAM, 2TB PCIe Gen 3 SSD, and a 300Hz display. The ROG Strix Scar 15 we received is priced at Rs 2,24,990.

We reviewed the device extensively and here we thought about the Asus ROG Streaks Scar. Also Read – Asus Expert P2 Review: Versatility for Workaholic

The design

Asus ROG Strix Scar 15 has been made one of the most attractive gaming laptops out there. The RGB has a black matte finish with the ROG logo on the back panel of the display on the laptop. The keyboard features an RGB backlight and what is even more exciting is the band of RGB lights placed on the side panel around the laptop keyboard.

All these can be controlled from the Asus ROG Armory app. A keystone is also available with the laptop positioned on the right side of the keyboard that provides security and access to the laptop’s shadow drive feature.

One of the best things that I felt about the ROG Strix Scar 15 core i9 gaming laptops when I started using it was the exquisite texture of the area where the palm rests while typing. This gives the device an overall premium feel which is quite an experience.

The performance hinge is another attractive part of the Asus ROG Strix Scar 15 i9 3d graphics design laptop. The display of the laptop is connected using two hinges that are curved and come out of the body of the laptop. It feels like the laptop display is floating with just two points of support.

Laptops have vents on the right side and rear, which let the hot air out when these laptops operate with a heavy load. The rear panel of the device has power, a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C, HDMI 2.0B, and a LAN RJ45 port. While the right-hand side panel only has room for the keystone and the left-hand side has a 3.5 mm audio port and three USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports.

The bottom of the laptop has slits that cool the air inside the laptop.

Gaming

Asus ROG Streak Scar 15 i9 gaming laptop has top performance when it comes to gaming, which goes without saying. I played AAA RPG games with multiplayer competitors and the laptop chewed them up and spit them out like it was nothing.

We played Sekiro: Shadow Die Twice, Doom Eternal, Horizon Zero Dawn, Crisis Remastered, and other games on the laptop at its highest setting. The laptop can be placed between 35-40 when Chrissy goes into “Can it run Chrissy” settings that become notorious as soon as the game is launched.

Other games like DOM Eternal had static frames at around 120, Cicero at 130, Horizon Zero Dawn at 90 (before the fix was released by the developer).

Now coming to multiplayer games, the ROG Strix Scar 15 can handle Counter-Strike Global Offensive at 350 fps, Rainbow Six Siege at 200, Valiant at 350, and Dota 2 at 300. These games are actually where the display brightened it up and performed for it. Best.

In terms of benchmarking, the laptop scored 7204 on the 3D Mark 10 TimeSpy test which is much higher than a regular gaming laptop but lower than a gaming PC. In terms of CPU temperature, it reaches 90 degrees centigrade when pushed in boost mode, otherwise, it sticks to about 84 degrees.

These scores were recorded when the CPU and GPU were being limited with the laptop’s boost mode, which caused the most noise. There are also performance and silent modes where the performance of the games varies.

Display

Now we are going to talk about a feature of Asus ROG Strix Scar 15 that I absolutely love, and that is its display. The laptop comes with a 15.6-inch full HD 300Hz 3ms display. This means that the display is capable of showing 1920 x 1080 pixels at 300fps which is ideal for gaming at the moment. The color reproduction of the display is accurate and it uses technology….

ASUS ROG Strix-Scar-15 Review Design-and-Build1

Although the Asus ROG Streak Scar 15’s performance reproduces color correctly, it may not be sufficiently fancy for media producers, but it sure works great for gaming. A 300 fps display with a latency of 3ms is typically higher than a laptop that can play most games.

Playing RPGs and other non-competitive games on this display is a treat, but really makes a difference when playing competitive multiplayer games.

I played Counter-Strike Global Offensive, Rainbow Six Siege, Valiant, and Dota 2 on it and the display performed flawlessly. The high response rate resulted in greatly increasing my response time, giving me an edge over others.

Now in addition to gaming, the ROG Strix Scar 15 display is also great for viewing media and content on Netflix and Amazon Prime. While watching movies in the dark, I had to lower the brightness a notch because it was still too bright.

The ROG Strix Scar 15’s chiclet keyboard features RGB lighting per key that can be controlled using AuraSync. It is comfortable to type on and is responsive even when gaming. The touchpad features Numpad on the touch format. To keep the touchpad closed I had to think most of the time that I would touch it with my palm and keep my position away while playing.

Asus ROG Streak Scar 15 has some of the highest specs possible on a laptop at the moment. Needless to say, when it comes to performance, there is hardly an app that cannot deal with it.

While this is primarily a gaming laptop, we used it for editing videos on Adobe Premiere Pro and content like photos on Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom. The laptop easily transfers games from one app to another, along with the game in the background.

Performance

But one of the few complaints I had about the laptop was that it looked like a jet engine in full throttle when the GPU functioned perfectly. It went up from sitting silently with an airplane.

And when the GPU was running under full duress, it produces excessive heat from the vents. And if you are used to placing your attached mouse on the right side of the laptop, you may get some stinging heat from the side vent.

Battery and audio

Asus ROG Streak Scar 15 has 66 WhatsApp, 4S 1P, 4-cell Li-ion batteries, charged with a huge power brick. And the power cable provided with it requires at least a 5-ampere socket for the plugin. The power brick is not heavy and therefore a 2.57 kg laptop does not make it the most portable.

The battery lasts around an hour while playing games on it which is not impressive. But given that it runs the RTX 2070 on that battery, I think it is suitable. The battery charges in about 45 minutes and lasts about two and a half hours when in silent mode and two hours in display mode.

The laptop’s audio capabilities are poor and it doesn’t help that the sound of fans on high-performance mode ejects the audio quite a bit. But this should not be a problem for gamers on their headphones.

Asus ROG Streak Scar 15 has a higher score for bat design and this score is only higher when great performance is taken care of. There are some trade-offs for that beauty and power – the Dell XPS 15’s battery life is just over 8 hours. The non-OLED Dell XPS 15 battery life is slightly longer at 8 hours and 48 minutes. But on a notebook it is stacked, I am betting that the battery life of eight hours is a minor flaw that you will ignore.

We certainly have, which is why we named the XPS 15 one of the best 15-inch laptops, the best video editing laptop, the best 4K laptop, and one of the best laptops for college students.

Dell XPS 15 Price and Configuration

I tested the Dell XPS 15’s $ 2,999 configuration with a 9GB General 2.4-GHz Intel Core i9-9980HK processor with 32GB of RAM, 1TB SSD, an Intel UHD Graphics 630 GPU, an Nvidia GeForce GTX is. There is a 1650 GPU and 4K OLED display with 4GB VRAM.

The $ 999 base model features a 2.4-GHz Intel Core i5-9300H CPU, 8GB of RAM, a 256GB m.2 NVMe PCIe SSD, an Intel UHD Graphics 630 GPU, and a 1920 x 1080 display.

The $ 1,599 iteration gives you a 2.6-GHz Intel Core i7-9750H CPU with 8GB of RAM, a 256GB m.2 NVMe PCIe SSD, an Intel UHD Graphics 630 GPU, a 4GB VRAM with an Nvidia Ge GeForce GTX 1650 GPU, and a Returns in 1920. x 1080 display. An additional $ 400 doubles RAM and storage and adds a 4K panel.

Dell XPS 15 Design

Aluminum and carbon fiber – a match made in technical heaven. At least this is when you are talking about the XPS laptop. On the XPS 15, the combination is upscale and modern, something that you can show in a coffee shop or board room.

The Chrome Dell logo shines in the center of the silver anodized aluminum lid, like the slightly chamfered edges of the system.

Adding a stylish temperament to the rigidity and mix is the carbon-fiber keyboard deck, which features a full-size keyboard, a large touchpad, and a rounded power button with double duty as a fingerprint reader.

As with all modern XPS notebooks, the latest 15 rocks that are barely bezels are courtesy of Dell’s Infinity Edge design. Unlike all but the most recent XPS 13, the 15-inch webcam is exactly where it is smack-pressed in the top bezel.

The Dell XPS 15 weighs 7.93 pounds. Its dimensions are 14.06 x 9.7 x 0.66 inches, which is comparable to its rivals. The 15-inch HP Specter x360 (4.5 pounds, 14.2 x 9.8 x 0.8 inches) is only slightly larger, while the 4-pound, 13.8 x 9.5 x 0.6-inch Apple MacBook Pro (15 inches) is smaller and lighter.

Dell Xps 15 port

Dell has designed the XPS 15 with enough ports and slots to make it a formidable task. It is one of the few premium systems to offer an SD card reader.

Also, on the right side of the laptop, you will find a USB 3.1 Type-A port with a wedge lock slot and a battery indicator button. On the left is another USB 3.1 Type-A port with a Thunderbolt 3 port, HDMI 2.0, and a jack and headset for power.

Dell XPS 15 display

Let’s have a big round of applause for the newest member of the OLED club. This is the first time Dell has installed an OLED panel on the XPS 15.

Featuring dramatic, vibrant colors with rich, detailed contrast, the XPS’s 15.6-inch 4K (3840 x 2160) panel is to be reckoned with. I was immediately introduced to how Amber Street Lights was viewed against the hot cobbler skin of actress Jodie Turner-Smith and she embossed each turn in her long box braids while riding in the car.

Little details like Daniel Kaluia’s beard patchiness and the tiny droplets deposited in his hair from melting snow were easy to see.

The non-OLED 4K version of the XPS 15 is by no means a slouch, successfully showcasing the stunning sheen of Kaluya’s Crimson Velor jumpsuit. But it was not as vibrant as its OLED counterpart.

Measuring for color reproduction capability revealed that the OLED XPS can produce 239% of the 15 sRGB gamuts, while the non-OLED system hits 210%. Both displays are more vivid than the average of 128% of premium laptops and 114% of MacBook Pro. However, neither laptop was a match for the Specter x360’s 258%.

New_Dell_XPS 15.6 4K UHD (3840x2160) OLED Display Laptop, core i9-9980HK

Wowzers that bright. When I first started reviewing OLED XPS, I thought it was too bright. Then I realized that it was only at 50%. When I set it to the max, I almost needed to whip out some colors to see the 626-night panel. Non-OLED screens average 418, which is equivalent to a 334-nit average, 403 nits from the MacBook Pro, and 483 nits from the Specter x360.

And while the XPS 15’s performance is stunning, it is also durable thanks to the Corning Gorilla Glass 4. This comes in handy when you want to reach and use the touch screen. And despite the 10-point capacitive touch screen is quick and accurate, you may want to invest in an optional Active Pen ($ 49.99) to avoid unsightly spots on this beautiful screen.

If the colors are not sufficiently vivid for you, Dell preloaded several utilities to help. PremierColor lets you tweak the color gamut, temperature, and brightness.

When it’s time to watch the video, you have CinemaColor, which provides several handy profiles to adjust the screen quickly. There is also DolbyVision, which can enhance color and contrast on standard definition panels.

Dell XPS 15 Audio

In the next iteration of the XPS 15 inch, I want a top-mounted speaker. Dell should place them in the hinge or towards the bottom corners. As it stands, the XPS 15’s lower-mounted speakers are loud enough to fill my small living room with audio, which was clear, yet shallow, depending on the song.

For example, the string orchestra with Sam Kook on “A Change Is Gonna Come” was as sweet and as sweet as his juicy tenor was yet to be expected. However, the bass lacked Lizzo’s “Truth Hurts”, although the performer’s rap/singing was good and clean, as was the piano.

To help enhance audio quality, Dell established the Waves MaxXAudioPro software. It has 24 presets including Hip-Hop (Soft), R&B, Movies, Oldies, Loudness, and Classical.

Maybe it’s the 79 gram of activation power we’re talking about here, but typing on the XPS 15’s island-style keyboard is a pretty comfortable experience. Despite a rather shallow 1.1 millimeter (1.5 is our preferred minimum) of major travel, my fingers never moved down as I typed reviews. I also hit my usual 70 words per minute on a 10fastfingers typing test with no problems.

Dell XPS 15 Keyboard & Touchpad

New_Dell_XPS-15.6-4K-UHD-(3840x2160)-OLED-Laptop,-core-i9-9980HK,-keyboard-touchpad

The keys are large and have a generous spacing. And the backlighting allowed me to burn the midnight oil without too many errors.

The 4.1 x 3.1-inch precision touchpad is huge, fast, and responsive. Displaying Windows 10 gestures such as three-finger taps to summon Action Center or three-finger swiping to access recent apps was instantaneous.

Dell XPS 15 Performance

Who wants more power? I do. And Dell delivers with the XPS 15, cramming an overclockable 9th Gen up to 5-GHz Intel Core i9-9980HK processor with 32GB of RAM in an otherwise slim chassis.

The laptop ate through my real-world tests, Spider-Man Streaming: Spider-prone on Netflix with 25 additional open Google Chrome tabs, some of which were streaming from Twitch or YouTube, while others ran Slack and Tweetcake Were staying.

The XPS 15 gave great results on our synthetic tests, achieving an impressive 28,882 points on the Geekbench 4.3 overall performance test. That is just the average of 16,226 premium laptops put together by the Spector x360 and its 1.8-GHz Intel Core i7-8565U CPU. But equipped with its own 8-core Intel Core i9-9980HK CPU, the MacBook Pro managed to deliver 31,012 results.

More: Laptops with Best Overall Performance

The XPS 15 found a way to take revenge in the handbreak test, which took only 8 minutes to transcode 4K video to 1080p. This is higher than the MacBook Pro’s 8:10 as well as the Specter x360’s 21:13 and 22:13 average.

When we ran our normal file transfer test, the XT 15’s 1TB m.2 NVMe PCIe SSD copied 4.97GB of multimedia files in 10 seconds for a transfer rate of 508 megabytes per second, beating the Specter-360 SSD (424 Mbps). Of. However, both scores are below the 620.3 Mbps range average.

We also ran a Black Magic storage test, in which XPS achieved a read/write speed of 2,116 / 2,224 Mbps. MacBook Pro’s SSD posted a faster result of 2,612 / 2,611 Mbps.

In addition to its integrated Intel UHD Graphics 630 GPU, the XPS 15 also features a discrete Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 GPU with 4GB of VRAM for more intensive tasks. When we ran the Dirt 3 benchmark, the XPS 15 achieved 80 frames per second at an average of 68-fps premium laptops.

However, with their respective AMD Radeon Pro Vega and Nvidia MX150 GPUs, the MacBook Pro and Spector x360 notched out 120 and 118 fps.

Dell XPS 15 Battery Life

There is a price that all the power and grand screens have to pay for. Due to all that high-power thanks, the XPS 15’s OLED iteration lasted only 8 hours and 7 minutes on our battery test (continuous web surfing at 150 nits brightness).

The non-OLED model ran slightly longer at 8:48. Both times you will get through a full workday and the specter is long-lasting compared to the x360’s 7:46.

But the 8:26 premium average outperformed the OLED XPS 15, while the MacBook Pro, which ran until 10:21, outperformed the competition.

PROS
  • Striking 4K OLED display
  • Great overall and graphics performance
  • Webcam in the right place
  • Slim, attractive design

Dell Gaming G7 15 and G7 17 are both available on Amazon

The design

While some of us are battling to keep the quarantine pound off, the G7 beaches are ready. Dell succeeded in shaving the 0.2-inch beard from the last model, creating a notebook that measures only 14.37 x 10.8 x 0.78 in inches. The company completed this spectacular performance by employing a new hinge design.

Both laptops have a fully anodized mineral black aluminum chassis, with an iridescent silver accent on the eyes. And Dell couldn’t resist bringing at least a little bit of RGB bling from its premium Alienware to the G7.

So both G7 notebooks have a great customizable RGB strip running at the bottom of the laptop. It is more colorful such as K.I.T. From Knight Rider.

Combined with the 4-zone RGB keyboard, it’s got the oh and ah factor gamer’s love. However, if you disable the lights, they will fit well in a classroom or office.

Display

Borrowing from the XPS line, Dell shrunk Bezels on both systems. On both laptops, the bezels measure 0.4 inches to 0.3 inches below. The G7 15 has three display options. You have two 15.6-inch, 1920 x 1080 panels. One screen has a refresh rate of 144Hz, while another increases it to 300Hz.

And for you OLED lovers out there, Dell has a 4K (3840 x 2160), 60Hz option. Sure, it’s not as smooth as butter like the other two displays, but this vibrant color is a worthwhile trade for some.

We are still waiting for the screen option of the G7 17 to stay up for an update.

Ports

Like any gaming laptop worth its salt, the G7 does not cause damage to the ports. On the right, you get a USB 2.0 Type-A port and an SD card reader. On the left side, there is a USB 3.2 Type-A port, headset jack, and power port.

Turn the laptop backward and you have a vertical cornucopia of ports including another USB 3.2 Type-A port, a USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C port, a Mini DisplayPort, HDMI 2.0, and a Gigabit Ethernet port.

spectacles

Just because it doesn’t say Alienware, don’t think for a second that any of the Dell G7s lack power. Both G7 systems can be configured with an Intel Core i9 gaming laptop processor, which is overclocked.

For RAM, you can go up to 16GB while you can get maximum storage of 512GB SSD. The main difference between the two laptops is that the G7 15 can only be upgraded to an Nvidia RTX 2080 8G GDDR6 with a Max-Q GPU while the G7 17 tops with the RTX 2080 Super GPU.

And when you need to get an extra boost during those particularly sticky, hit the GameShift button to activate Dynamic Mode.

MSI recently launched the latest update for its flagship gaming laptop line. It’s GT Titan laptop differs from its already competitive stealth or raider lines, in which the Titans can often fit in a laptop chassis.

#7. Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Extreme Gen 2 Laptop, 15.6″, 9th Gen Intel Core i9-9880H, (Renewed)

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Extreme Gen 2 Laptop, 15.6 UHD (3840 x 2160), 9th Gen Intel Core i9-9880H, 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Max-Q, Windows 10
  • 9th Generation Intel Core i9-9880H Processor (2.30GHz, up to 4.80GHz with Turbo Boost, 8 Cores, 16MB Cache)
  • 32GB RAM
  • 1TB SSD 2.5-inch SATA SSHD (FireCuda)
  • NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Max-Q 4GB
  • 15.6″ UHD (3840 x 2160) IPS, anti-glare with Dolby Vision HDR 400, 500 nits Display
  • Windows 10 Professional 64bit
  • Lenovo Factory Refurbished; 1 Year Lenovo Warranty

This is a great PC. The New ThinkPad X1 Extreme does not look much different than last year, and it comes with the internal upgrades that you expected. It now has a ninth-generation Intel H-series processor and an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 instead of the 10th generation. And yes, now there is an option for a 4K OLED display.

The original X1 Extreme, introduced last year, featured a lot of firsts for the ThinkPad lineup. It was the first X1 with a 15.6-inch screen, the first with dedicated graphics, and the first with a 45W H-series processor. If you want power and portability from a premium ThinkPad, this is where you go.

The Design

The best way to think about the design of the X1 Extreme is an oversized X1 Carbon because it is too much. It is black and features a carbon fiber weave that is also new to the X1 Carbon this year, and so the X1 is new to the extreme. And yes, this is a clamshell laptop that opens up to 180 degrees.

On the lid, there is a premium ThinkPad logo and X1 logo, neither of which are used on non-premium PCs. The premium ThinkPad logo is black and shiny, while others use the ThinkPad gray logo. Only non-X1s have this P1, and as you’d expect, the only PCs with the X1 logo are the X1 ThinkPad.

Lenovo-ThinkPad-X1-Extreme-Gen-2-Laptop,-15.6-9th-Gen-Intel-Core-i9-gaming-lapop-design

Lenovo provided at least a fair amount of ports compared to other modern PCs. Remember, this is a business PC, and it is one that is for power, so it is not crazy that you want to plug in some external devices.

On the left side of the device, you’ll find a power port, two Thunderbolt 3 ports, HDMI 2.0, an Ethernet connector, and a 3.5mm combo audio jack. Yes, it uses Lenovo’s proprietary power port, but it will have to. This laptop comes with a 135W charger, and there are no 135W USB Type-C chargers on the market.

Naturally, you can plug in a group of external monitors. Each of the two Vajra 3 ports supports up to two 4K monitors or one 5K monitor, and then you can also use the HDMI 2.0 port for 4K monitors. Thunderbolt 3 ports are also good for 40Gbps data transfer speeds.

On the right, there are two USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports with SD card slots. It is a bit disappointing that Lenovo used USB 3.1 Gen 1 instead of Gen 2, as Gen 2 has twice the speed of 10Gbps. I think it is because it is the same design as last year.

The bottom panel can be removed with seven Phillips-head screws. This will give you access to the internal, where you can swap things like RAM, SSD, speakers and more. For more information on replacing and upgrading parts, check the user guide under Customer Replaceable Units, or the Maintenance Manual for some more depth.

Performance and audio

If you are in the market for a 15.6-inch ThinkPad X1, good news! You are buying a ThinkPad X1 Extreme, as it is the only one. Both Yoga and Karbonn have 14-inch displays.

The X1 Extreme has four display options, two of which are 1080p and two 4K UHD. The low-end 1080p is 300-night brightness. Obviously, it will give you great battery life. There is also an FHD model with Dolby Vision HDR400 and 500-night brightness.

Honestly, I think the FHD is very low on a 15.6-inch screen. If they had it then I would have gone for the 1440p, as I think it is the best balance between battery life and resolution. Ultimately, FHD will probably get you close to double battery life, as you would with 4K or at least more power-consuming 4K OLEDs.

Lenovo-ThinkPad-X1-Extreme-Gen-2-Laptop,-15.6-9th-Gen-Intel-Core-i9-gaming-lapop-performance

And those are the other two options. The 500-night brightness features a 4K model with Dolby Vision HDR400 and a 4K OLED model with Dolby Vision HDR500 at 400 bits.

These are the two that Lenovo sent me, and they are both beautiful, but I’ll tell you now that OLED is what you want. In fact, no matter what you are buying, anytime, if there is an OLED model, get an OLED model.

With OLED, the pixels are lit individually rather than in front of the backlight. This means that black is true black, where you cannot tell where the screen ends and the bezel begins.

The colors provided on top of the real black are more vibrant, as the backlights make them look more washed out. The IPS model is not bad in any way, but this sweet, sweet OLED is just that much better. It is also the only configuration that supports touch.

This is also the first time that Lenovo has offered Dolby Vision on both IPS and OLED screens on the same model. A few years ago, both the ThinkPad X1 Carbon and the Yoga were introduced in the OLED model, which was swapped for a Dolby Vision IPS. OLED is expected to return to carbon and yoga next year.

The bezels are the same as last year, except for the webcam. Last year, you had to choose between the ThinkShooter Privacy Guard and the IR Camera. Now you can be both; Of course, if you turn off the privacy guard, Windows Hello will not work.

As far as audio quality is concerned, here are some good and some meh. The good is that it gets louder. These speakers will definitely fill the room. The bad is that it has a minor (and I mean slight) effect on it. The two 2W speakers with Dolby Audio Premium do not have the clarity of some Dolby Atmos speakers that I have heard on other laptops.

Keyboard, Ports & Slots and trackpad

This is one of those sections that I think I will be writing over and over again, as I review a lot of ThinkPads, and they all have similar keyboards. This is a premium typing experience; It is accurate and it is comfortable, something that I always say about the premium ThinkPad.

They simply have great keyboards, and this is something that is very widely known. I have typed a lot on this machine and I am not getting tired of it (and I have been getting this PC for months now), and this is the main exam it has to pass.

One thing different about ThinkPads is that the keypress is deeper than other laptops. Upon receiving this instrument, I had to take some time to actually use it, as I use a lot of shallower keyboards. Naturally, it’s up to you to decide whether you like a dark or shallow keyboard, but Lenovo’s premium ThinkPad keyboards are precise and comfortable.

There is a red TrackPoint in between the G, H, and B keys, which is found on every single ThinkPad. It can be used to move the pointer around the screen, and you can click with the buttons above the Precision Trackpad. This is a feature that you will either love or hate and if you hate it, you can always ignore it. I think that’s what most people do at this point.

There is also a fingerprint sensor on the right side of the keyboard. I’m a facial recognition type guy, but it’s good to choose between different biometric authentication types. After all, Thinkpad had fingerprint sensors for years before Windows Hello.

Performance and battery life

It is Lenovo’s most powerful ThinkPad that does not fall under the category of workstations. It is the only one with an Intel 45W H-Series processor, and the only one with dedicated graphics as powerful as the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650. The configuration Lenovo sent me includes 32 GB of RAM and a 1 TB SSD as well.

The CPU configures Lenovo to send me a Core i7-9850H and a Core i9-9880H, which both support IPro. Both are 45W, but the Core i7 has six cores with 12 threads, while the Core i9 had eight cores with 16 threads. While last year was the first year to include the H-Series processor, this year is the first to include the Core i9.

The main thing I did to test the performance was video editing, and the X1 Extreme did a great job. If you’re editing 4K 60fps video, you want something more powerful, but for 4K 30fps or 1080p 60fps, the X1 Extreme works great.

Of course, all of that electricity comes at the cost of battery life. Their cost on OLED, a 45W CPU, and all the power of graphics. If you choose non-OLED 4K, you’ll do a little better, but for the best battery life, you’ll want to go for 1080p.

I got about four hours of everyday use with the OLED model, and about five hours with the non-OLED model. On the other hand, I could listen to music in the background for just six hours on the OLED model.

#9. ASUS ZenBook Pro Duo UX581, 15.6” 4K UHD NanoEdge Touch Display, Intel Core i9-10980HK 10th Gen Gaming Laptop

The Asus ZenBook Pro Duo offers a Core i9 processor, Nvidia graphics, and two 4K screens ready for multitasking.

From Asus Taichi 21 to Asus Zenbook Pro 15, Asus is the master of dual-screen laptops. But the company has outdone itself with the Zenbook Pro Duo.

The $ 2,800 laptop is firing on all cylinders with a 4K OLED touch screen and a 4K touch secondary panel, which runs the length of the chassis, creating a multitasking monster. Productivity? Check. content creation? Absolutely. Gaming? Why not?

So how is Asus pulling it all? Serious glasses. Once you get some time to stop ogling and touch the screen, consider the overclockable Core i9 CPU, Nvidia RTX graphics, and faster SSDs.

But there are some caveats to consider: namely, a really short battery life, a mousse keyboard, and a rough profile. But mobile professionals, content creators, and even gamers who chew and chew gum at the same time should consider the Zenbook Pro Duo.

Asus ZenBook Pro Duo Price and Availability

I drifted madly with the $ 2,800 model of the Asus Zenbook Pro Duo. It has an overclocked 2.4-GHz Intel Core i9-9980HK processor with 32GB RAM, 1TB PCIe SSD, Intel UHD Graphics 630 GPU, and 6GB VRAM with Nvidia GeForce RTX 20X GPU.

The $ 2,499 base model features a 2.6-GHz Intel Core i7-9750H CPU with 16GB of RAM.

Asus has continued to deliver designs that are once timeless, innovative, and undeniably meant for Asus. Manufactured from strong aluminum, Celestial Blue is attractive, with a pool of dark blue, hidden beneath the surface for those brave enough to plunge. The glossy Asus logo on the right of the center is the epicenter of Asus’ beloved centric-circle pattern.

The design

Upon opening the lid, the company’s ErgoLift hinged picture gradually elevates the keyboard deck to a 4.5-degree angle for a more comfortable typing and viewing experience. The full-size keyboard resides in a space typically reserved for palm rest, with the touchpad/num pad in the lower-right corner indexed.

ASUS-ZenBook-Pro-Duo-UX581-Laptop,-15 intel core i9 design

At the bottom of the front of the laptop, you will see the Alexa light bar, which indicates that the digital assistant is processing your request. Asus watched his ports dwell on gleaming, chamfered ledges.

At the top of the deck, you’ll find an Asus screen pad: a massive second display that runs the length of the deck. This is a visually stunning element, paired with a 4K display above, making for a panoramic view. However, despite the matte panel, the ScreenPad Plus is quite a fingerprint magnet.

As Duo looks, it is one of the largest reviewed Zenbooks in a long time. At 5.4 pounds and 14.1 x 9.7 x 0.9 inches, it is significantly heavier than the HP Specter x360 (4.5 pounds, 14.2 x 9.8 x 0.8 inches), the Dell XPS 15 (4.5 pounds, 14.1 x 9.3 x 0.5 ~ 0.7 inches) and the Apple MacBook Pro (4 pounds, 13.8 x 9.5 x 0.6 in).

Ports

For such a thick sow, the Duo is very thin at ports. On the right, you get a USB Type-A 3.1 Gen 2 port, Thunderbolt 3 and an audio jack. On the left side, you have another USB Type-A port, a full-size HDMI 2.0 port, and a DC-in port.

Presents

OLED and 4K: A match made in visual heaven. The Duo’s shiny, 15.6-inch, 3840 x 2160 main touch display delivers gorgeous hues with sharp details. Seeing a particularly strange scene between actresses Sasheer Zamata and Dewanda Wise during the trailer of The Weeknd, the latter’s Crimson blouse caught my eye, as did the bright-red vine tomatoes and the golden chrysanthemum.

The details were sufficiently sharp for me to see clearly the different hairs of the two women, along with the curl pattern, as well as the fine curves in their blouses.

The same scene in the matte screen pad was not nearly as vibrant. And, due to the 3840 x 1100 resolution, the video didn’t play the length of the display, leaving about 3 inches of black space on either side.

The details were still very sharp, as I could see all the wrinkles in actress Kim Whitley’s olive shirt. Although it is not OLED, I appreciate the matte finish of the screen pad, as it does not make a serious reflection.

I was mesmerized by the technicolored, post-apocalyptic wasteland Far Cry New Dawn. The game was already incredibly vibrant, but on the Duo’s OLED panel, the pinks and purples looked almost fluorescent. As I battled a white wolf, trying to cook me food, I could see different hair in the sunlight.

Unfortunately, most games don’t play well with the ScreenPad Plus, so you can’t play on another display. But I’m not sure that most gamers would like to play on the small screen unless it’s a smartphone or a Nintendo Switch. But it would be cool if you could manage tertiary functions such as game menus and inventory.

When we measured the Duo’s OLED display, it reproduced a 203.4% sRGB gamut, which is 130% more premium than the premium laptop average as well as 114% of the MacBook Pro. However, the Duo could not shut down XPS 15 or Spector, which got 239% and 258% respectively.

Related Articles must Read:-

The screen pad stood at 107.8%, not too shabby.

The duo’s OLED panel flashed an average of 322 nits, while the screen pad hit 289 nits. Nor did the score manage to match the 343-night average. The MacBook Pro and Spector beat both screens in 403 and 483 nits respectively. But nothing can hold a candle to the 626 nits of the XPS 15.

Other Display Use Cases

Asus has several prior use case scenarios for ScreenPad Plus: video editing, gaming, programming, and 2D graphic designing. Since I have a trade term, most of those use cases are lost on me, but the gaming aspect is up to my street.

ASUS-ZenBook-Pro-Duo-UX581-Laptop,-15.6”-4K-UHD-NanoEdge-Touch-Display,-Intel-Core-i9-10980HK,-32GB-RAM,-1TB-PCIe-SSD,-GeForce-RTX-2060-display

In the top screen, Far Cry New Dawn ran in all its multicolored glory, while I split the ScreenPad Plus panel into three between a YouTube video, Discord, and a Gamefake game walkthrough. Despite the small real estate, I had no problem reading my Desord threads or GameFAQs tips.

And YouTube played without any issues as I hope is killing the crooks in Hope Valley. Later, I swapped YouTube for XSplit Gamecaster so that I could do a little streaming.

Keep in mind that whenever you interact with the screen pad during a gaming session, the game will stop automatically. This is a bit disturbing, but not beyond the scope of how a title treats a single screen.

While I was playing, I had a major complaint about the ScreenPad Plus. I really wish you could adjust the secondary panel to lift it up at an angle. When I’m gaming, I don’t want to break my line of view too much to read discussion messages or watch playthroughs. In its current iteration, I’m forced to look down for a quick peek, which takes me out of my game.

ScreenPad Plus: Productivity Grown

In my professional life, I use a giant Alienware AW3418DW 34-inch curved display with my work-released MacBook. This allows me to work in three different windows, which makes me more productive than being limited to countless amounts of tabs on one screen.

This is why as much as I love work trips, I hate going without my second performance. I’m not entirely sure that Asus’s ScreenPad Plus is my on-road multitasking solution, but it is very damned.

Asus’s ScreenPad Plus has expanded over last year’s screen pad, showing the Zenbook Pro 15 in a big way. First, at 14.1 inches, it is much larger than the 4.8 x 2.6-inch screen pad.

Secondly, it features a 4K (3480 x 1100) game that offers sharper detail and more vivid colors. But at the top of the keyboard deck, the ScreenPad Plus offers a lot more functionality than its predecessor.

The fun begins after tapping the small arrow icon on the left side of the panel, which reveals a small menu and navigation bar. Similar to its predecessor, the ScreenPad Plus acts as an app launcher.

Out of the box, it features Myasus and Spotify with utilities like Number Key, Handwriting Mode, and Quick Key, which allows you to quickly access Windows shortcuts such as cut, paste, and copy through large buttons. You also have the ability to create your own quick keys by recording keystrokes.

Whenever I wanted to add a new app to the launcher, I pulled it down from the top display on the launcher. To remove the application, I simply hit the edit icon and shut down the unwanted software.

Task Group quickly became one of my favorite utilities. This lets me create custom app groups that launch at the touch of a button. This lets you group up to five apps (two main screens, three-screen pads plus).

I immediately grouped Google Chrome, Slack, Discord, Spotify, and Twitter with Chrome and Slack on the main screen; And Spotify, Twitter, and Discord on the screen pad. And if I ever wanted to switch screens, I hit the task swap button to turn my windows up.

While I was working on a spreadsheet, I enabled Viewmax, which I see below on the screenpad. This gave me a lot of real estate, which came in handy when I was scrolling all the data.

But two screens are definitely better than one – especially when I can snap three different windows in one. Although it was not as good as my mass surveillance, I still benefited from watching everything at once. When I am sitting in the office I just have to maneuver more between the windows.

Pen

Both displays on the Duo are touch-capable, but instead, let you smuggle them with unsightly fingerprints, Asus bundled a pen. Asus Pen is made of slate-gray aluminum and has enough feel which is not unlike fountain pens.

And with 1,024 pressure levels, it does a great job of mimicking the writing experience.

Just because of the angle, I like to write on screen pad plus where it was easy to write. Running on AAAA batteries, Asus estimates that the pen will last 10 hours.

Keyboard and touchpad

The Duo’s chile-style keyboard is springy, with just enough feedback to stop frying. However, the trip felt a bit fishy, as many of my colleagues pointed out. And the lack of a palm rest typifies the system in your lap and inexperienced experience. Typing on a level surface is preferable, especially with bundled detachable palm rest.

But I really wished Asus thought to add a magnetic palm rest similar to the company’s offering for the upcoming Maadship Hybrid. Nevertheless, I hit my normal 70 words per minute on the 10fastfingers typing test with no problems.

The ScreenPad Plus takes up all that precious space which means the 2.4 x 3.4-inch touchpad has been inadvertently pushed into the lower-right corner of the deck. It took a while to get used to the setup, but once I was separated, I was navigating the post and doing multitouch gestures just as easily as if the touchpad was in its normal position.

I like that the touchpad pulls double duty as a new pad. You just press the icon in the top-right corner to activate the Num Pad and do it again to disable it. I also appreciate that Asus has added a glow button in the upper-left corner if you’re using a laptop in a, particularly dark room.

Audio

One place where Asus needs to improve is audio. The next-door Harman / Kardon speaker filled our small lab with great difficulty. It was so bad that at times, the conversations of my co-workers impressed the speakers. When I heard of Lizzo’s “Good as Hell”, his powerful alto was front and center, but the instrument – especially the piano – sounded a bit distorted.

And while I could hear the cymbals and drums, the latter was of no real weight. I wish Asus would have added some audio software to boost the speakers. But as they are, you definitely want to invest in a pair of noise-canceling headphones.

Alexa inside

In addition to its two displays, the Duo is also compatible with Amazon Alexa. There is also a slightly lighter bar on the front lip of the laptop. The integrated array mic works well. It easily captured my voice in our open office during a raucous conversation. And if you are so bent, the voice command feature also works with Cortana.

All I want is for Alexa to work out of the box. As it stands, you must download the app from the Windows Store. This is a minor quibble, but I prefer my system to be as ready as possible.

Display

Do you need strength You got power The Duo features an overclockable 2.4-GHz Intel Core i9-9980HK processor with 32GB of RAM. It is capable of handling large-scale spreadsheets, transcoding videos, and video editing. I was not surprised when I saw an episode of Cannon Busters on Netflix, with 25 additional Chrome tabs running Twitch, YouTube, and TweetDeck without any lag.

ASUS-ZenBook-Pro

The laptop scored 26,524 on Geekbench 4.3, a synthetic overall performance test. This easily defeats the 15,321 range average and the Spectral (Core i7-8565U CPU) 17,115. However, with their own 9980HK processors, the XPS 15 (28,165) and MacBook Pro (31,012) outpaced the competition.

In the handbrake test, the Duo took 8 minutes and 52 seconds to transcode 4K video to 1080p. It dusted off the average (22:04) and Spector (21:14) of premium laptops, but could not compete with the MacBook Pro or XPS 15, which finished with times of 8:10 and 8:00 respectively. .

Duo’s 1TB PCIe SSD copied 4.97GB of multimedia files in 6 seconds for a transfer rate of 848.2 megabytes per second. This was more than enough to dominate the 564.1-Mbps average, XPS 15 (1TB PCIe SSD) 508 Mbps, and Spectre (1TB SSD) 424 Mbps. However, the MacBook and its 4TB PCIe SSD cranked out a ridiculous 2,610.8 Mbps.

Gambling

Although Asus is billing the Duo as a content creation/productivity machine with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 GPU with a VRAM of 6GB, the notebook is capable of playing traditional games or VR titles.

On the rise of Tomb Raider testing, the Duo increased the average of 27-fps premium laptops to 1080p by 42 frames per second. Doo matched the 49-fps average during the shadow of the Tomb Raider benchmark. When I drove the Grand Theft Auto V, the Duo achieved 67 fps, surpassing the 38-fps average.

For Metro: Exodus, we saw a score of 42 fps, which matched the average. We also ran a Hitman test, where the Duo beat the 62-fps category average and scored 81 fps. The system also managed to do a little 4K on Hitman with 32 fps, which is just above our 30-fps playability average.

Thanks to its powerful RTX graphics, the Duo scored 10.7 on the SteamVR performance test, completing an average of 4.7.

When you’re not doing video editing, gaming, or any other graphical taxing task, the Duo switches to its integrated Intel UHD Graphics 630 GPU.

Battery Life

As beautiful as 4K OLED panels are, they can do a number on the battery life of a laptop. The Duo gets a double whammy here, as it also sports a power-consuming discrete GPU and another 4K panel.

The Duo lasted only 3 hours and 41 minutes in the laptop mag battery test. Our tests include continuous web surfing over Wi-Fi with a top screen with 150 nits brightness and screen pad enabled. The laptop lasted only a few minutes with the screen off (3:54).

Both Duo times are below the 8:10 premium laptop average. The Specter ran until 7:46. The 4K OLED iteration of the XPS 15 tapped at 8:07, while the 4K model peaked at 8:48. The MacBook lasted the longest, with a time of 10:21.

Heat

Like most laptops with high-end components, crammed in a relatively small space, the Duo faces cooling issues. It uses a two-sided attack.

On one hand, you’ve got the ergo lift design, which uses slightly elevated space to not only improve the typing experience, but to allow for better airflow.

It also has a cool-air express system, which uses four heat pipes, which are shared between the CPU and GPU, along with a fifth of the length of the chassis. Both fans have 71 blades for improved airflow and generous venting.

Asus’s Grand Cooling Gambit is largely closed. I stormed an outpost in New Dawn for 15 minutes. After that, I measured the touchpad, the center of the keyboard, and the bottom of the notebook and saw temperatures of 89, 91, and 106 degrees Fahrenheit respectively.

The hottest part of the laptop was the vents, which blew a toast to 126 degrees – well above our 95-degree comfort limit. Still, since the vents are side-mounted, none of that hot air comes into contact with your more sensitive parts.

Once the system cooled down, we ran a less strenuous version of the test, which included a 15-minute YouTube video. When we retried, the keyboard’s touchpad and middle recorded 87 and 88 degrees, respectively, while the undercharge hit 95 degrees.

If the laptop is getting too hot, you can hit the turbo button to increase fan speed.

webcam

The 720p webcam of Pro delivers accurate color, displayed by my skin tone. It also managed a leftover patch of purple in my bleached locks.

However, the details in our test shots were soft. Although you can clearly see heavy black lines in the borderland facade, other details such as creases in our shirts were very soft. And the top of my head is an orange-brown drop.

For streaming purposes, you want an external webcam, and for privacy, you should get a privacy cover.

Software and warranty

The Duo overshadows Windows 10 bloatware and highlights Asus-branded software. Outside of MyAsus, which allows you to run system diagnostics, contact customer support, check for software updates, and change performance settings, among a myriad of other things, is only manufacturer software.

Useful third-party applications include McAfee Personal Security and the Nvidia GeForce Experience, a suite of software designed to optimize your gaming experience.

The Asus ZenBook Pro Duo ships with a one-year limited warranty. See how Asus performed in our annual special reports: Tech Support Showdown and Best and Worst Brands.

Ground-level

The second display on a laptop is not a new concept: Asus had a dual-screen library in the early 2000s. However, it is currently the only company that envisions justice.

The $ 2,800 ZenBook Pro Duo not only gives you an absolutely beautiful 4K OLED touch panel but also gives you a full-length, 4K touch display.

It is gorgeous, indulgent, and surprisingly useful once you get the hang of it. Having the ability to quickly access hotkeys, launch multiple programs at once, and still have enough screen real estate is a big boon.

Also, typing without a palm rest on the Duo can be uncomfortable very quickly. I would also like the ability to adjust the height on another display. And, I wish the Zenbook Pro Duo was lighter, but that’s the price you pay for a dual-screen.

For the money, you can get the $ 2,649 Dell XPS 15, which has a brighter, more vivid display, better overall performance, and longer battery life.

However, its GTX 1650 GPU has no match for the Duo’s RTX 2060 GPU. And you lose on that sweet second performance. Overall, the ZenBook Pro Duo is a serious contender for creative and mobile professionals looking for a worthy alternative to Apple.

PROS
  • Two beautiful 4K touch displays
  • Speedy SSD
  • Stays cool when gaming
  • Great overall and gaming performance
  • Dual-screen functionality easy to use
CONS
  • Short battery life
  • Weak audio
  • Chunky and heavy

#10. Dell Precision 17 7730 17.3″ FHD Mobile Workstation Intel Core i9-8950HK Gaming Laptop

Dell Precision 17 7730 17.3 FHD Mobile Workstation Laptop w i9-8950HK 32GB 1TB SSD Quadro P4200 Windows 10
  • Ninth-generation 8-core Intel Core i9 processor
  • 32GB RAM
  • 1TB SSD
  • Quadro P4200 graphics
  • 17.3″ FHD Mobile Workstation
  • Windows 10
  • warranty details not mentioned

If you need the most powerful laptop regardless of price or size, look no further than the Precision 7730. The workstation features a blazing-fast display and an attractive 4K display that bursts with color. Factor in a comfortable keyboard, premium design, and rugged build quality, and this Beastley machine hit (almost) all the right notes.

Unfortunately, disappointing battery life and poor heat management are notable pain points. And the precision 7730’s high, $ 5,534 price isn’t for everyone. But if you are an engineer or a creative who needs a powerful workstation, take advantage of it; You will not regret emptying your pocket for an exact 7730. We also confidently placed it on our best workstations and best 4K video pages.

Display

The 17-inch display of the Precision 7730 gives you a theater-like feel. Its bright 4K panel is incredibly detailed, and the colors it produces are exceptionally vivid and rich.

When I saw a trailer for the upcoming autobiographical film Green Book, I was able to create the tiniest details in the set design, such as a personal record at Maharshala Ali’s house and Viggo Mortensen during an elaborate shooting of his chic living room Understanding of smoke emanating from cigarettes.

Turquoise paint on the pianist’s chevy looked as if the car had left the show floor.

Similarly, in the trailer for the upcoming sci-fi film Kin, neon lights and colorful explosions burst with rich, saturated blues and oranges. Matte displays usually don’t have the same wow factor as their glossy counterparts, but I was taken aback each time I visited my favorite websites.

My main complaint with the display is that the skin tones look overrated, but you can adjust the color temperature using Dell’s included display calibration software.

Excellent properties of performance were determined in our test. The panel reproduced a staggering 211 percent of the SRGB color gamut, receiving the highest rating we’ve seen.

While the Lenovo ThinkPad P71 (183 percent) and the HP ZBook 17 G4 (173 percent) also impressed, their panels were not as colorful as the presses. Workstation average is very low, which is 149 percent.

With the matte display and impressive peak brightness of this machine, you should have no problem using the Precision 7730 in a bright environment.

The display reached a maximum brightness of 330 nits, which is higher than scores from the ThinkPad P71 (283 nits) and the HP ZBook 17 G4 (256 nits). The workstation average is also dim at 325 bits.

The design
While picking up the Dell Precision 7730, do one favor on your wrist and use both arms. Better, if you have a good chiropractor, keep this system in a bag. At 7.5 pounds, the laptop weighs more than the HP ZBook 17 G4 (7.1 pounds) but is lighter than the Sumo-sized ThinkPad P71 (8 pounds).

While the Dell machine is slimmer than its predecessor, the 16.3 x 10.8 x 1.2-inch frame of the Precision 7730 is best placed on a desk. Its competitor, the Lenovo ThinkPad P71, is roughly the same size (16.4 x 10.4 x 1.2 inches), while the HP ZBook 17 G4 stands tall (16.5 x 11 x 1.3 inches) at each end.

With a premium, durable material – a carbon-fiber lid, a soft-touch deck, and a metal frame – the Precision 7730 XDuce class. People will notice the machine for its sheer size, but its industrial black-silver design is easy on the eyes.

Aggressive dual vents, shiny metal trim around the deck, and a thin LED battery indicator on the front lip are all welcome addition. I wish the lids were not such a fingerprint magnet and the display bezels trimmed down.

Ports

The Precision 7730 has an extensive selection of ports that are conveniently located around the laptop.

On the left side, you’ll find a smart card reader, an SD card slot, and two Thunderbolt 3 ports.

The right side is primed for peripherals, with two USB 3.1 Type-A ports as well as a Kensington lock and a headphone/microbe jack.

For fixed accessories, the rear has HDMI, a mini DisplayPort, an Ethernet port, a DC power jack, and a third USB 3.1 Type-A port.

Durability and safety

Don’t worry about your arms when you hold the Precision 7730; This tank can avoid falling. Business laptops passed 15 MIL-SPEC durability tests, including for high altitude, extreme temperatures, dirt, shocks, and drop, according to Dell.

Precision 7730 also has security measures to protect your sensitive data. You have the option of adding a fingerprint sensor to the rest of the palm to go with a standard smart-card reader and an NFC sensor for contactless smart cards.

Keyboard, touchpad, and pointing stick

With an activating force of 69 grams and a head travel of 1.6 millimeters (from 1.5 mm to 2 mm), the chiclet-style keyboard with a pad is comfortable to use even during long typing sessions. Waiting and tackles provide a rewarding amount of backlit keys feedback and are well spaced.

In the 10fastfingers.com typing test, I reached 113 words per minute with an error rate of 5 percent. This matches my 94 percent accuracy rate, but is slightly slower than my 116 words-per-minute average, possibly due to the key’s above-average activation force.

For a device, this large, precision 7730’s 3.9 x 2.1-inch touchpad is unnecessarily small. Fortunately, it made up for its size by quickly responding to my gestures, including pinch-to-zoom, four-limb tapping for open settings, and three-finger swiping to change apps.

If the touchpad is not your thing, you can use a little rubber nub in the center of the Precision 7730 keyboard. If you can find it. The black pointing stick does not have a colored ring around it, so it mixes with the dark deck.

Nevertheless, I had no problem using the pointing stick and secondary set of left, right- and mid-click buttons to navigate the web.

The Graphics

The Nvidia Quadro P5200 GPU with 16GB of GDDR5 memory is powerful enough to run most graphics-intensive programs or the latest games at high settings.

With this GPU, the Precision 7730 scored a score of 3,953 on the 3DMark Fire Strike Ultra Synthetic Graphics Test, beating the Lenovo ThinkPad P71 (3,588), the HP ZBook 17 G4 (3,643), and the Workstation Average (1,490).

The Precision 7730 played the racing game Dirt 3 at 223 frames per second, so moving around the hairpin should make the butter feel smooth. The Nvidia Quadro P5000-equipped HP ZBook 17 G4 won the same title at 171 fps.

Display

Precision 7730 is a power powerhouse. Equipped with an Intel Core i9 gaming laptops CPU and 32GB of RAM, the Precision 7730 quickly loaded 30 Microsoft Edge tabs, four of which played YouTube videos, while two others streamed Fortnite on Twitch.

With the demand for workloads running in the background, workstations opened up Xbox and 3D Paint Windows apps without breaking a sweat. Impressive, yes, but not surprisingly, the precision 7730 has in mind to run the most demanding tasks such as video encoding and 3D rendering.

The precision 7730 took just 1 minute and 19 seconds to complete our Excel spreadsheet test, including matching 65,000 names in their respective addresses. The workstation averages a few seconds slower at 1:21.

The laptop scored an impressive 23,130 on Geekbench 4’s overall performance test. This is significantly higher than the Lenovo ThinkPad P71 (15,972) and HP ZBook 17 G4 (15,839), and scores on the workstation average (15,252).

Precision also boasts very fast storage. In our file transfer test, the workstation’s two 512GB M.2 PCIe SSDs copied the mixed media files at 4.97GB at a rate of 565 megabytes per second in 9 seconds.

This is faster than the Lenovo ThinkPad P71’s rate (463 Mbps) and workstation average (505.6 Mbps), but in the HP ZBook 17 G4 (848 Mbps) it’s faster than the dual-SSD mark.

When we videoed the Precision 7730 from 4K to 1080p using the handbrake app, the laptop finished in just 8 minutes and 59 seconds, which is nearly double the workstation average (17:44).

Battery Life

The Precision 7730 does not last long on a single charge, even with an optional 97Wh battery. On the laptop battery test the machine operates after only 4 hours and 14 minutes, including continuous web surfing at 150 NIT brightness.

The Lenovo ThinkPad P71 (5:57) and the HP ZBook 17 G4 (5:23) lasted for over an hour and even fell short of the workstation run-time average (6:49).

Webcam

Precision 7730’s webcam is fine. The 720p lens exhibits a good amount of detail but is not very bright, and the colors it produces look unnatural.

In a selfie I swooped into my dimly lit office, looked at the scarlet sores in my face, and the shirt I was wearing was so deep that I couldn’t pattern the white dots.

Audio

The bottom-firing speakers on the Precision 7730 are loud enough to fill an oversized room, but they don’t do well.

Glenn Hansard’s powerful vocals were front and center when I listened to the vocally played “Grace Be the Pines”, but the Irishman gave a humming sound, and the only piano chorus to give this emotional tune a pulp was empty. And were hollow.

I had similar impressions while listening to John Mayer’s up-sing single “New Light”. Meyer’s silky-smooth vocals sounded quite accurate, but the drum hit lacked weight and the instruments of this funky tune were everywhere.

Our $ 5,534 review unit features a 4K display and components ramp up to an Intel Core i9 gaming laptop 8950HK CPU, an Nvidia Quadro P5200 GPU, 32GB memory, and dual 512GB PCIe NVMI SSDs.

A top-of-the-line Precision 7730 has the same 4K display and P5200 GPU but upgrades you to an Intel Core Xeon E-2186M CPU, 128GB of RAM, and 8TB of SST storage. The price of this model is $ 10,928 without any add-ons.

There are endless configuration options to customize the Precision 7730 to your liking. Dell offers i5, i7, and axon CPUs; Radeon Pro and Nvidia Quadro GPUs; Four 32GB RAM slots for up to 128GB; And up to 8TB up to four 2TB SSDs. You can also change the RAID configuration, upgrade to a backlit keyboard, increase the battery from 64Wh to 97Wh, and opt for a fingerprint reader.

Ground-level

The Precision 7730 is an excellent workstation, with class-leading performance and a bright, vivid 4K display. A comfortable keyboard, premium design, and capable GPUs are icing on the cake. Alas, the laptop’s battery life lasts for a few hours and the chassis does not heat up uncomfortably under a heavy workload.

Overall, the Precision 7730 is an excellent all-around workstation that I wholeheartedly recommend – if you can afford it.

PROS
  • The Precision 7730 justifies its high price with powerful overall performance and a gorgeous 4K display in a durable, attractive chassis.
  • Durable, premium design
  • Powerful graphics
  • Vibrant, sharp 4K display
  • Blistering performance
  • Comfortable keyboard
CONS
  • Below-average battery life
  • Runs warm
  • Top configs are absurdly expensive

One of the CPUs in the Core “i” series, the Core i9 has become a choice for gamers, animators, creative professionals, multimedia enthusiasts, and anyone who desires high-end performance from their computers.

The Intel Core i9 CPU was first introduced in 2017. Since then, it has had 14nm process technology and Skylake-X
Microarchitecture became a crowd favorite.

Not only does the i9 CPU provide awesome speed and efficiency, but it
Graphics (Intel UHD Graphics) and hence also a winner on many other fronts like the number of PCI Express lanes
(16).

Currently, it is available in several models, such as the i9-9980HK, i9-8950K, and hence the i9-9900HK.
So, how fast can a Core i9 processor be? Incredibly fast! The I9-9900 is often turbo-boosted to 5GHz. Even i9-
The 8950 can be expanded to a powerful 4.8GHz.

In addition, this CPU supports hyper-threading, which makes a huge difference to performance when looking at CPU
